We are a family of riders in Scenic Upstate New York, in the Heart of the Finger Lakes. I have been an active motorcyclist for the past 29 years, my wife and three children all ride as well. I have owned a few more than a dozen different bikes, and currently enjoy a fleet of six street bikes, a dual sport and four dirt bikes. Variety is the spice of life!

I became keenly intersted in a solution for a portable air pump and tire repair kit when I had three flats over about a three month period in 2005. Talk about a helpless feeling, hundreds of miles from home, waiting on the side of the road for the flatbed to show up, then worrying if they will damage the bike, then waiting for the repair. If I only had the proper tools, I could deal with this myself, on the spot and be on my way. The bill for that first flatbed transport and repair ($280!!!!) almost made my heart stop! There had to be a better way.

I have purchased many different brands and sizes of 12 volt inflators. Disassembled them, tested them, modified them, tortured them, etc. There is some real junk out there! There are also some real gems. The gems are what I use to build the Ultra Compact Pumps! Some folks saw what I had made and said, “Hey, you should sell those!” The current Ultra Compact Pump is the result of more than a year of R&D, more than 1800 pumps sold so far and they are in use all over the world!
